Staghorn was born out of a love for design, architecture, restoration and historic preservation. Staghorn founder Lajla Metzler has been practicing real estate since 2006 — the same year she bought her first house, a 1910 Arts and Crafts bungalow. Since then, she's developed a love for designing and bringing distressed, forgotten, and historic homes back to life. In 2019, Lajla and her husband sold their family home in Pawleys Island, SC, and bought a bus to convert into a tiny home. Over the next several years they explored the U.S., living in South Carolina, Ohio, the Pacific Northwest, Texas, Massachusetts, and Coastal North Carolina; buying, renovating and selling homes along the way. Her favorite project was a 1729 colonial Georgian home in the historic McIntire District in Salem, Massachusetts. During this time, Lajla developed a strong passion for design and staging, realizing that a home's finishes, curb appeal, and cohesive design greatly contribute to its value. She recently moved to the Asheville, NC area to be closer to family and enjoy the WNC mountains. She currently holds an active NC real estate license and looks forward to drawing on her personal and professional experience to help homeowners, real estate professionals, and investors, buy, sell, renovate, and stage homes that are both beautiful to live in and ready to compete on the market.
